Doctor Who the 10th, David Tennant, is planning to get hitched to his fictional daughter Georgia Moffett, who also happens to be the real daughter of his fictional fifth incarnation. Moffet is the real-life fruit of former Time Lord Peter Davison's loins, and played Who offspring Jenny in 2008's The Doctor's Daughter. Davison …
Why do the rich, successful, good-looking men get all the best girls?
Surely they should walk up the aisle to the Dr Who theme tune and be married by a Dalek.
So many possibilities.
You! Will! Love! Honour! And! Obeyyyyyy!
I expect this is going to be a puntastic comments thread..
Personally I want the registrar etc to be John Simm in full priestly regalia..
Have they considered the vows yet? 'Do thee Doctor, give away Doctor to be married to Doctor (or perhaps 'The')
The Master (resurracted)? (Too bad Anthony Ainley died; he was my favourite...)
And on the wedding night
Hang on, so the daughter of the 5th Doctor is marrying the 10th Doctor?!
Wow time traveling must make family get togethers confusing. :)
I think you have to be a relation of a luvvie or welsh to work on DrWho ;-)
Or sleep with the producer :-)
they rejected you then?
the current one is Moffat
I've never tried to write for Doctor Who but that would appear to be pretty much how most of the Beeb works, more or less. It's hard to get in.
Re: Re: r
To be fair I've got gigs on occasion that I wouldn't have got if I didn't know people (although you generally still have to be good).
Not this one, though. It was pure pedantry.
As you were.
As in the biblical sense? Did not someone mention sleeping with the producer?
I'm shocked, shocked.
"It's hard to get in."
That's a matter of using more/better lube.
Re: FFS get a grip...
I only just saw this. You're a real nice guy, arencha?
"They gave you the shittiest end of the stick editing these comments too. They don't rate you and you clearly don't either otherwise you'd have told them to stick it years ago."
How about you let *her* decide whether she's in a job she wants to do or not? I'm not normally one to call -isms, but your remark about being the token girl was cheap. You should probably aim for higher standards than that if you want to lecture other people on theirs.
Still, from what I've seen of Sarah's responses to us commentards so far, I'm sure it'll be like water off a duck.
Re: Re: FFS get a grip...
He really is. This muppet's been gobbing off for years without actually ever saying anything of any worth.
Re: Re: Re: FFS get a grip...
Oh hi. I just looked at his back catalogue of rejected comments - he's a gem. I shall make sure to accept everything he posts in future.
When I read that post yesterday I had a strange sense of deja vu. Then I realised - it was like the average comment on YouTube.
They all come from the Department of Net Hate anyway:
Like they say - incest is best!
In other news Amazon has started censoring Dr Who
Well, it is time for Amazon to censor it I guess.
Wow. That is a properly Gordian knot of interpersonal relationships. Just goes to show time travel is a bad idea.
"One of the major problems encountered in time travel is not that of becoming your own father or mother. There is no problem in becoming your own father or mother that a broad-minded and well-adjusted family can't cope with."
Clearly, you're not broad-minded enough.
Our Rob or Ross
Lister: I'm me own Dad!
Rimmer: That certainly explains a lot...
I'm confused as hell...
they'll arrive at the church in the Tardis?
They already did. Tomorrow.
And the honeymoon ended 3 weeks ago.
Can't blame him...
...curse the man!
Does David Tennant...?
Does David Tennant only go out with girls who were in Who? He was dating Sophia Myles before who played Madame de Pompadour in Series 2.
On a side note Georgia Moffett is only 26 but has a 10 year old son.
RE: Tom 15
It appears he's 10, although he was actually born when the dinosaurs were around and they all briefly lived on Voga for 10 years before getting engaged here in 2011.
The wedding is in 2093 if you're lucky enough to get an invite and the honeymoon is to Egypt in 1822
Now if that lad grew up to play Doctor Who,
things could get yet more complicated...
Please don't make me think about that, I've got a headache already.
If being born
on 27/3/02 makes him 10 he definitely is time travelling....
He is ten
But in what number base?
And to demonstrate that the union is infinitely improbable
The mother of the bride is Trillian.
According to the imdb....
....Trillian and Dr Who also wrote the theme tune to 'button moon'.
Not as messy as...
...Bill Wyman's wedding to Mandy Smith... followed by Bill's son getting engaged to Mandy's mother... eurgh!
Error : Stack overflow
I'm stuck in a recursive loop. So Bill Wyman son could also be his father in law. Which would mean Bill Wyman's son could become his own grand father in law. Which would also mean Bill Wyman's wife's father in law is her step son, the grand father in law of her husband?! Which would also mean ... aaargghhh! ... Stack Overflow ... my brain's crashed! :)
Explained with diagrams.
Wonder what she thinks of his sonic screwdriver
Is marrying yourself legal? :)
Technically the 'Doctor's daughter' is a clone, so he's marrying himself (I know, I know, they do look a bit different). Surely that's not allowed..
I wonder how many other Who marriages there have been - there's already precedence for a 'Time Lord' marriage when Tom Baker (fourth Doctor) briefly married Lalla Ward (Time Lady Romana). Of course, Lalla then went off and married Dawkins, so they're obviously subverting the universe from within..
I think it probably IS legal...
The good old C of E 'Table of Kindred and Affinity' has a very clear list of who you can't marry:
A Man may not marry his
father's father's wife
mother's father's wife
wife's father's mother
wife's mother's mother
wife's daughter's daughter
wife's son's daughter
son's son's wife
daughter's son's wife
But it doesn't actually mention 'himself', so clones seem to be okay then. (although I think they would be rather against the spirit of the thing)
Which means that...
So let me get this straight: the fifth doctor begat the clone of his tenth incarnation.
But if a clone's a clone, then they are genetically identical, so the fifth doctor must have had relations with someone genetically identical. So far, none of the doctor's regenerations have been female, making the only candidate for mother... the clone herself.
So at some point in the future (or past) there will be (or will have been) a mammoth case where The Doctor divorced The Doctorclone for infidelitous relationship with... The Doctor.
In any divorce, it's the kids that suffer, which in this case is also the wife. I bet she was so desperate for therapy that she will have been inventing the whole profession in a few centuries ago.
If you have sex with a clone...
...is that technically masturbation?
The title is required, and must contain letters and/or digits.
@ Uncle Slacky
Dunno about that but it's more a case of f*cking yourself about that's for sure.
Re: Is marrying yourself legal? :)
Sorry, you may well know this but I've seen it on too many forums not to comment! Jenny wasn't a clone - technically or otherwise. A clone is an exact genetic copy. For example, identical twins are, genetically speaking, clones. However, Jenny was made by making two haploid gametes from the Doctor (randomly picking which chromosome of the source pair should go into the gamete, and presumably doing a bit of recombination on the way), then fusing them into a viable diploid cell and finally accelerating its growth into an adult - the process resulting in genetically different offspring. Assuming that Time Lords have the same sex determination mechanism as mammals, the genetics of the story were actually correct - you could make a female starting from a male but you could not make a male starting from a female.
Sorry, couldn't stop myself and I'll shut up now ;-)
