Horse-headed human trots through Street View
The BBC has been getting a good few hits today as a result of its "horse-boy" revelation, the amazing tale of a horse-human hybrid spotted trotting through Street View in Aberdeen: Horse boy as seen on Street View Horse boy has reportedly been spotted in the real world as far away as Germany and Norway, according to Beeb …
Some
attention seeker in a mask. How entertaining, how educational. Watching grass grow comes to mind.
Why did I click on this story? I usually ignore such links to the mind numbingly inane. A momentary lapse of reason no doubt.
Friend: "Did you click on that YouTube link I sent you?" (Yes I have one friend, but he is thinking of upping his rates)
Me: "No, it was all in the title, I didn't need to watch the video"
Friend: "Did you get that E-greeting card I sent you" (same friend after paying his invoice)
Me: "No, all my email is in plain text. I didn't click on the link to see it nor the swathe of advertisements that will accompany it. I do appreciate the thought though, thanks"
Re: Some
Why did I read your comment? Because I have to, unfortunately.
Touche
But don't complain... it's free content.
Why did you read my comment? Because you get paid to do so fortunately.
Perhaps a position where one does not have to do things that are unfortunate is more conducive to a less acerbic nature.
@Ms Bee Re: Some
I think you forgot this, so I'll put it here for adnim:
ODFO!
Holy hell.....
You have to read every single comment? How on earth have you still managed to maintain any semblance of sanity or faith in the human race? Granted, there are pearls of wisdom and the odd flash of razor wit but if I had to read endless fanboi vs fanboi diatribes I'd hurl myself under a bus. Even then, I'd probably have to listen to be whining about Stagecoach pwns National Express.
how did he know when the street view car would drive past?
or did he just so happen to be carrying a horse mask at the time?
I certainly wasn't prepared for any shenanigans when I saw one of their vehicles drive past me.
Well done that man anyway.
Its the food...
eating too many butteries will do that to you.
mmmm...salty
re: Its the food...
i lolled
but only because I read it as: "eating too many batteries will do that to you."
mmmm salty
Uhm.
Why is the guy's hand blurred out, not his head? Would the blurry heads algorithm trigger have anything to do with skin colour then?
Ok, Ok.
An albino horse wanders into a bar.
"Whisky, please"
"Funny" says the barman, "we've a whisky named after you"
"Huh" says the horse, "Eric??"
Delete at your pleasure, Sarah.....
Somebody has to say it
Sorry I've never heard of Eric Whiskey, I've even googled for it and I can't find it.
Gee Sarah, did you have to read this as well...
"White Horse" whisky. Brand in UK.
Albino == white.
Maybe I should get another shot. From a bottle, or a Smith & Wesson...You, the audience, choose.
I'm really sorry for this
the cars were in his neiggghhhh-bourhood
I think that head is from Archie McPhee
There's a local retailer of the weird, Archie McPhee. That looks like their horse head mask!

Horse-headed human trots through Street View
Or is it a Human-Bodied Horse trots through Street View
It's spreading.
Reports of men wearing horse-head masks and acting silly have been coming out of Japan for years. I think there are a few YouTube videos floating around. Just look for 'Japanese man wearing horse mask cooks mushrooms' and you'll find it.
RE: It's spreading.
I looked for "Japanese man wearing horse mask cooks mushrooms" and found nothing.
I searched for just three words "japanese horse mask" and found:

He's not preparing, he's removing
If you look at the streetview images claimed to be where he's preparing to put on the mask, then look at the reflection of the google spycam car in the windows of the houses, you can see it was travelling away from the horse-man not towards him.
ah!
Ok, while some might claim he had a real horse head, what about the possibility that Google is having fun with the blur mechanism? I can see auto-photoshopping bring a new feature in StreetView!
Bob, without a tinfoil hat.
One can but wonder...
Why Google's anonymisation routine decided it needed to pixellate his right hand.
@ 'Its the food...'
As an Aberdonian, who had a couple this morning (to soak up the excesses from the previous night), I feel I must point out that the acceptable names for our salty, lard-ridden delicacy would be 'rowie' or 'roll' in these here parts...
I can't even bring myself to say the b-word <shudders>
I do, of course, speak for every single person in Aberdeen.
Pint for everyone tonight...but why no rowie icon for the morning?!
If so
Why is "Buttery" on every packet of the things in the shops?
LOL
I was the front end of a cow with a wonderful cardboard head in a carnival parade once, years before streetview. Not sure my older brother ever fully got over being the back end.
@copsewood
"Not sure my older brother ever fully got over being the back end."
Ah! Egg curry for dinner the previous day was it?
