@Fractured Cell

"this is nothing more than a faceless plug!"

Why? What's different between this story and, say, "Mozilla releases new version of Firefox for Linux" ?

Shame on you.

Useful

Having the Kindle reader on a Mac or PC should make it easier to prevent Amazon remotely deleting e-book purchases, and to remove the silly rights retrictions they impose. Thanks Amazon.

Not for 'classic' Macs

Why are developers getting lazy? This Kindle app, like so many these days, does not support PPC-based Macs, only Intel ones. Given that the Universal Binary idea has been around for so long, how hard can it be to make an app for both CPU types. Our Macs are perfectly serviceable, but we are being forgotten by Apple (no Snow Leopard), Google (no Chrome) and now Amazon.

Bah Humbug!

Bloomin' title.

"Books you buy buy don't download - or delete after they've been read - are always accessible at a future time."

Grammatical errors notwithstanding, are you really sure about that?

Kindle for Android

Still no Android app? Really??? Nothing at all against paying for ebooks - would much prefer to - but ShortCovers' app is just awful, especially when compared to Aldiko, which is perfect, except it has no content.

So I'll continue to find creative ways to attain content, convert via Format Factory, and import to Aldiko until a usable app with legal access to a reasonable amount of content is introduced.

Are these companies just not interested in making money?
