Why extradite him?
If they send him to the US he'll get a few years and come out to a cushy job in computer security. They should just try him right there in Thailand instead. A few decades in the pleasant hospitality of a Thai prison would be a much more fitting consequence than mere extradition!
Well on the plus side...
Im sure he'll find prison life in the US to be substantially better then in Thailand...

US prison vs Thai prison
I'm not convinced he'll have such a nice time in a US prison. If he doesn't make friends easily, he might be a target for the any of the race-based gangs. If he does make friends easily, he may leave prison with a very sore bum. Alternatively, he could end up in a prison like that run by Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
