EMI saves world from unauthorised Beatles downloads

EMI appears to have recleansed the internet of Beatles music, forcing Bluebeat.com to ditch the 25 cents per Fab Four song offer it launched this week. The music giant's US arm, Capital Records, hit BlueBeat with a copyright infringement suit yesterday and the Beatles tracks swiftly disappeared from the service, the LA Times …

the who?

... no the beatles...

(sorry couldn't help bringing up another old has-been band that are freely available on bit torrent) ...

FAIL

Bit torrent, yeah.

So if they won't allow us to buy the music online then everyone will just continue to download the tunes free from bit torrent.

Stupid.

Why the Beatles?

No doubt a good band, but why so popular? It's not what they have or had I wonder about. Instead I'm curious what people are lacking without their songs?

Alert

the beatles

only made 2 or 3 tracks i like. and even then i'd rate quite a lot above them. whats the damn obsession!?!?

FAIL

How much?

25 cents for some 40+ year old recordings, some of which are only a couple of minutes long.?

Sounds like a complete rip off to me. The Beatles and EMI are really milking a very old back catalogue for every single penny they can get. OK in this case EMI/The Beatles weren't getting any money but you can get if they DO put them on line they'll be 99cents each.... Macca's got to pay for his divorce somehow.

FAIL

Capital Records?

Sheesh - no the Beatles are not, and have never been signed to Capital Records.

It's Capitol records.

Are you getting confused with Capital Radio?

The obsession

It reminds idiot hippies of when they were cool and could think. You know, before all the drugs, like LSD and socialism.

Which is better?

"It reminds idiot hippies of when they were cool and could think. You know, before all the drugs, like LSD and socialism."

That might be true but it's only half of the truth, the other half was peace, not stealing from your brother and happiness in general. Greed was something to scorn to.

Now greed is the norm and stealing accepted (if you are a banker, it's expected) if you don't get caught. Double standards are also the norm. That's bad in any society.

Hippies definetely were naive simpletons but most of them were also honest people, something you don't find easily anywhere now. You tell us which is better?

Thumb Up

uTorrent in the sky with downloads!

Hey Jude, get back!

Old hippies listen to the Beatles?

I don't think so! Anybody who was around back then has had more than their fill long ago. It's young people who listen to this old fart music nowadays. Pathetic, really.

Youngsters Love The Beatles

9 and 11 yo at home, both currently obsessed with The Beatles.

"I like this old music. It actually has singing, music and fun songs"

Granted they both play instruments, one of them quite well, but I think a case can be made that the Gangsta Rappers and Pouting Crack Whores that make up todays "music" have a lot less to offer to people who actually like music.

And yes, I am an old fart. Now, get the hell off my lawn!!! *waves walking stick angrily*

Thumb Up
