Erin Andrews peephole footage spreads Trojan
Supposed hidden camera footage of US sports reporter Erin Andrews on offer online often leads to malware, security firm Sophos warns. Websites claiming to provide nude video of glamorous ESPN reporter Erin Andrews are in reality a trick designed to trick both Windows and Mac surfers into installing malware. Hackers are taking …
Surely Sophos should post
peephole footage of Erin Andrews on youtube and save everyone having to go to nefarious sites to get it?
I'll get my coat...
New English Language: Glamour == DD tits
Oh language of Shakespeare, Byron and Hemingway what has become of you... Me coat, the one with the "For whom the Bell tolls" in the pocket
I for one...
...will be researching this in the interests of security.
So waiit a minute, there really is nude footage of her?
So that warrants two obvious questions.
{In case your obvious machine is broken}:
Where can I see the real footage they are trying to keep from the public?
(e.g. is the video in the virus really her?)
And does Erin Andrews look good enough to risk getting a virus?
Yeah, and...
What a surprise. Another leak used to spread a trojan.
Market share
It's the focus of attack because the subject matter has the majority share of the market. Switch your interest to porn with fewer adherents, like smoking fetish or chastity belts, and you will encounter fewer (if any) viruses. Yes, these genres are still theoretically vulnerable to attack, but the black hats can't be bothered with the much smaller pool of potential victims. And use Linux (fnargh, fnargh!).
Bing video search to the rescue....
Ahem... well done MSFT i'm sure Paris approves too.
Malware on the web - say it aint so
Bizzarely it is avaiable on usenet malware free - I have no idea how they will be able to enforce its removal from there.
But it could be fun watching them try.
Paris because... oh c'mon nudity, virus alerts and hysterical lawyers - what other choice did I have?
Video of malware blocked by YouTube
For reasons best known to YouTube they've deemed the video of the malware attack "inappropriate content".
If you want to watch what the malware does, you can check it out at http://vimeo.com/5662308
Couldn't resist
a Google search on her name (interests of science ahem), second site has Avira beeping away quite happily!
RE: Market share
Are you suggesting that Linux is a minority fetish? Can't confess I've ever come across (fnar fnar) porn involving Linux or a penguin!

"...reputable news outlets, such as CNN."
I saw what you did there.

No but there's plenty of beastie-ality out there.
