That's union-type code speak for "I want more responsibility (i.e. a promotion) and more money, and longer holidays".

Screw'em. Let them leave. Besides, it's probably for the best anyway. If an employee is unhappy they'll probably remain that way forever or turn unhappy again at the drop of a hat - especially if "being unhappy" results in a raise or similar incentive.
