Last time I installed a workgroup officejet printer, it required the software to be installed on EACH COMPUTER that you wanted to scan to.
The whole friggin' "productivity" suite (dunno how they call it that).
And then it slowed down the computers to a crawl, because of all the myPrintMileage and HP Customer Experience shit that they put on the software that tracks and reports on how many trees you kill...
Gah! Sort out your bloody software, HP, and stop making each installation take an hour!
