Ch-Click...HOCK! OOOORRRRRAAAAAYYY!
Seriously... I want to see these bastards swing. The Internet is humanity's greatest achievement and those who insist on destroying its value to the whole of humankind for their own selfish gain should be charged with crimes against humanity, and treated the same way as the Nuremberg criminals. You hijack people's computers, steal their data and identities and ruin their lives, you *DIE*. It's the only way these scumbags will ever be stopped.

How about we just fix it so it doesn't matter to me if you're somewhere else claiming to be me?

It's never mattered if I'm somewhere else claiming to be you. The problem exists when I'm somewhere else with enough moody info / credentials to *prove* that I'm you.......
Short of some sort of globally recognised and utterly unforgeable ID system which requires the physical presence of the owner with it to authenticate, that also handles remote recognition via a variety of communication media*, this one's unfixable.
*Tricky this, just ask the Home Secretary**.
**Don't expect a sensible or balanced reply.
