it is your duty...
...to report, nothing more
Amazon UK is currently selling the MP3 version of Prince’s Lovesexy album for the not so princely sum of 79 pence. The online retailer has failed to spot the cockup, which appears to have happened because the Purple One’s 1988 album was mastered to be played as if it was one track. Sources close to the matter tell us that …
if it means that the Puerile Purple Pricks Preposterous Pretend Pop Pontifications are off line for two minutes, then it would be worth it..
Won't somebody think of the childern (that have all their ribs)?
...for the one good song on the album. Anyone know of a decent mp3 file editor for Linux so I can chop out the rest of the guff?
You'd have to pay me a LOT more than 1p to bother with that crap.
Well how much roylaties do the record company expect to get back per album?
More than 79p. factor in the royalties for the artist, marketing, musicians and Managers and it comes to WAY more than 79p :D
Good legal way to screw the record industry :D:D
Woo!!!
has it for £1.95 - still less than an album, but more than a single...
That "album" cover was not what I wanted to see in my delicate pre-caffeinated state.
... then I remembered it was shit, so didn't bother.
Cheers for the tip off anyway.
Odd. In 1988, when the album came out, it was indeed one long track - very annoying. I bought the tape and then the LP a little while later because it was easier than the CD. But, a year or so ago, for sake of completeness, I bought the CD, and was happy to find that the tracks were indeed now separate, as they should have been in the first place.
That said, it's a brilliant album to listen to from start to finish, so one track isn't all bad, and it's his last really really good album before things went horribly wrong.
Out of his box, but a genius nonetheless.
Worth every penny.
How typical of the purple one to want to annoy the hell out of people by making the whole album one track.
What an arse.
