When you see the internal corporate communication, often with the bland, smiling, side-parted, slightly sagging face of the exec who reiterates the need for increasing sales, customer satisfaction, and a renewed focus, the immediate impulse is to send a reply telling them to "f&**k off". Yep, go move your cheese where the sun don't shine you unimaginative, bean-counting a%£e.
Seriously now, we have contempt for them, they have contempt for us, so let's be honest and get it all out in the open.
When I saw Anne Livermore's email, with her ridiculous smiling mug in the header, I dearly wanted to send that email, but I'd rather get my VR or CR and go with some money.
Especially if that email is packaged with another reminder that there will be no pay raises, bonuses, training, or anything that would make you feel part of their 'team'.
Anyone up for starting a new services company to directly compete? It would be based on the HP founder's management principles. When any successful, innovative company founded by engineers is taken over by soulless, MBA side-parters and bean-counters, you know the company has already gone to hell. Examples abound.
Let's not complain. Let's leave, re-group, and put them out of business. We all know we can do a better job.
