Tory MP smacks Labour about the balls

Graham Marsden

Can I be the first to say...

Coat

... that sounds like a load of balls to me...

Good investment

Go

I'd guess just ONE business investing in this country is going to be spending a lot more than £12k, so I'd say this was a good deal!

Small beer.

Alert

If he wants a *real* scandal to get his teeth into with regard to Government advertising, he could do worse than ask why the "Government information film" slot on the Beeb (free) has been ditched in favour of becoming the UK's largest spender on TV advertising?

Lining the pockets of ITV and Sky with taxpayer's cash doesn't strike me as a sensible use of our money. Also, I reckon that most people are *more* likely to be away making the tea when your 30 second pitch on Tax credit renewal is buried between the delights of Cillit Bang* and OAP's life insurance than when it's standalone on the Beeb.

*who should be forced to put the "irritant" symbol on their bottles, regardless of the chemical consituents.

re: Good investment

Is it? Because they only put the business where there's enough of a tax break and then move away as soon as the benefits dry out.

Just look at any business moving to Wales, for example.

a) Get a big wodge of money and guarantees for moving to "a deprived area".

b) Get as close to england as you can whilst still being in the "deprived area".

c) Close as soon as you can and leave people without a job.

Doesn't really help the economy.

And how many businesses were persuaded to turn up because of the nice golf balls?

There's a load of balls if ever I heard it!

Liam

hmmmm

odd day for this considering some tory has frauded £500k on the same day ;)

Robin

HM Government giveaways...

Unhappy

I hear they also do a good line in memory sticks and CDs. All used however, but feel free to delete any data you might find as it will only be old personal records for taxpayers etc...

Look on the bright side

(yes, there really is one!)

Every penny wasted on crappy golf balls is a penny the bastards are *not* spending on regulating and overseeing our every move.

Hell, maybe of we could persuade all the "I must know everyuthing because I'm in charge" Managers and NuLabour politicians (most of whom have little or no real-world experience with any real bearing on the problems at hand) to fuck off to the golf course and leave the real workers to sort everything out, the economy would soon get sorted.

I suggest we re-jig a tennis ball-launching practice machine to fire these golfballs, and put all the senior execs and NuLab idiots downrange...
