Ok, we apologise: Not only has this story got no IT angle, but it's not even a story at all, just a feeble excuse to run an extravagantly silly headline. However, the headline is actually factually correct, since Philippine troops are indeed battling separatist rebel members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in the southern …
Made me grin...
No, really it did! :)
I for one welcome our new rampaging MILF overlords
A new level of quality service from El Reg
Are they aligned with the Coalition for the Liberation of Itinerant Tree-dwellers?
[* Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back]

Great Tits maybe
but how exactly is "Great tits cope well with warming" a "related" article?
Made me click (and ROTFLMAOWTFBBQ too)
Lends a whole new perspective to...
telling the authority figures to 'bite me'!
I was looking forward to seeing a picture, and now I am sort of hoping that someone at Reg will get a photographer out there to get some pictures of the Military tracking down MILFs.
Do I need to state why I have used Paris???
wouldn't it just be
Philippine troops battle rampaging MILF
Mums I'd Like to Fuck?
As opposed to
Mum I'd Like to Fucks?
I'm not sure to be honest, just wondering.
Could you please clear something up?
What exactly is the plural of MILF? If we assume it exists merely as an acronym, I imagine it would be MILFs. Or possibly MsILF. However, I have always preferred the syrupy smooth expression 'Milves'. Where does the Register stand on this critical issue?
Make love not war?
Somebody had to say it...
Me, getting my coat
Best Reg headline...
More of this...
...I like a bit of humour mixed with IT, it can be very dry in IT sometimes.
re: Lends a whole new perspective to...
How about to the phrase "the grunt in the field"?
We need a beaver icon...
The plural should probably be (MILF)s
Makes me think of...
... when I was a teenager and my mates mum except that she's 50 foot tall and battling Phillipine soldiers and tanks - 'Noo, Mrs Baker stay away from the power lines!'
Or was that just a dream I had once?
Mines the one with the picture of my mates mum in the pocket.
Lego re-enactment required?
I rather think one is.
Pink MI5 Stonewalling Defence?
Definitely an Astute Class WMD, which would warrant Total Unconditional Surrender.

C.L.I.T., isn't that an offshoot of the Liberate Apes Before Imprisoning Apes movement?
Is it just me or......
Are all IT types just porn loving freaks?? I mean where are the posts saying 'what's a MILF?' ?
Go into the accounts or HR dept. and ask what a MILF is and you'll get a blank stare so IT people must be sad, lonely perverts with nothing else better to do but occasionally peek at the odd ' peculiar website in between command line stunts and Vista slagging off sessions.
I for one do not belong to this shallow, perverted breed!
P.S. Can we replace the Paris icon with Milena Velba please?
So if they're MILFs then do Paris Hilton and her chums see us as FILF?
Or am I just dreaming?
Seriously, what the feck is the Paris Hilton angle on this one?
>> Seriously, what the feck is the Paris Hilton angle on this one?

As a long term reader of your formerly esteemed publication, since 1899, I am appalled and dismayed by your use of the term "MILF" as an acronym to describe Philipino armed gangs. As many on the titternet will know, some raging sex addicts like to describe some women as "Mothers I'd like to Fuck", an appaling and deeply offensive slur against all non-mothers.
Please cancel my subscription forthwith. I am not amused.
Surely this story needs a full Playmobile re-enactment for our delight on Friday .... get to it El Reg.
Just because there are (MILF)s, it does not preclude the fact that there are other (WILF)s !! On the other hand, there are some that one wouldn't approach even with a 50-meter barge pole. One has to keep one's standards up, you know !!
One is also presuming that you are heterosexual and, therefore, have unintentionally omitted any mention of the male persuasion when defining "non-mothers" !!
Otherwise, one's mind truly boggles and one's gob is truly smacked !!
Yours most insincerely,
A Pedantic Old Fart
"Go into the accounts or HR dept. and ask what a MILF is"
Go on, go into HR and ask what a MILF is, I dare you. I double dare you. And when a humour-less HR-induhvidual replies she doesn't know, and could you please enlighten her...
As any fule kno, the term 'MILF' was popularised by the film 'American Pie' - I suspect most people under the age of 30 will have heard of it, IT geek or not.
Also, "command line stunts"?! Are these cunning stunts by any chance?
I know; coat, door, before the Moderatrix slings me out...
You forgot to use the complementary dead vulture icon.
Some one is mising
Were is Ms Bee at ??
posting Anon because I dont wont to get stung
@Some one is mising
@AC "Were is Ms Bee at ??"
Why are you looking for her? Ah... of course... Moderatrix I'd Like to....
Coat.. Hat.. Okay... I've gone... running fast...
how rude, yet strangly arousing.
HAHAHAHA Full "Lego re-enactment"... God that one brought a tear...
Not quite so funny....
Whilst you may have a chuckle over the abbreviation "MILF" from the safety of your desks in London, Birmingham and Manchester, for those of us expats living and working here in the Philippines, it's no laughing matter. In fact, as the Philippines Government has stated that it will no longer be signing the agreement which gives the Muslims an enhanced autonomous region and instead wishes to renegotiate, the current unrest could likely be escalated into all-out war.
A day or two ago, a bus travelling from Zamboanga to Cagayan De Oro on Mindanao was ambushed by a MILF patrol and almost all its passengers - all civilians - were executed; only four, including the driver, managed to escape.
So please, a little sensitivity!
Re: Not quite so funny....
Hi Mark. I agree. I'm closing this thread now. Hope you're OK there.
