Slashdot website down
Linux lovers' favourite website Slashdot.org has been unavailable all morning. Sister sites SourceForge and Freshmeat are also down. This is terrible!
I've been so bored this morning that I actually did some work.
Not ALL down
The RSS feed is still fine O_o (if somewhat useless)
http://rss.slashdot.org/
Thank god
Thank god it isn't more serious - imagine a beowulf cluster failing.
This is wonderful!
The % accuracy of spelling on the web has increased 4% today...
Not terrible
Think of the 'First Post' opportunities when they come back up.
<ducks>
Hot grits
1) Maybe Natalie Portman poured some hot grits on their beowulf cluster and they're now naked and petrified.
2) ???
3) Profit!
Work?
WORK? Who can work when we don't know what happened to Slashdot?????
In other news
30/04/2008 is most productive day in IT this year.
Thank God El Reg is still up.
Shit
I'll have to make my moronic, reactionary, ill educated comments here instead. Oh, wait... ;)
@leigh smith
Did you know that if your boss googled ( or other ) your name, assuming that it's your real name, he/she would then find out what you have been upto.
Just a thought.
@This is terrible!
Still found time to visit El Reg though, so you can't have done *that* much work...

Oh dear!
Imagine all that unvented spleen being bottled up by the unwashed geek masses, I'd start hiding the shotgun cartridges now!
head-botted?
I'm betting the system went down just as their story "Botnetters named and shamed" was about to be published.
Reason for downtime
GTA IV marathon session all last night, and the Bawls supply has run out.
Server Ninja downtime.
From the "I wish I'd thought of that department"

Oh no, what are we going to do now?
what did someone forget pay the bill?
Its back...
/. is back up atm (14:13 BST) but running a bit slow.

So, A.C., is that a good thing or a bad thing? You don't seem too certain about it ...
@Fine here - NYS, USA - 8:55AM EST
Yes, it's fine here now too...
The fact that the site was down for 4 hours is unimportant, as long as you can access it now. Duh.
Sourceforge owns slashdot?
No way, Slashdot 0wns all other websites!!1
Not forgetting...
I for one welcome our Slashdot-crashing overlords
