I had as much free time as you guys.

Wouldn't be the Ministry Of Self Love by any chance?
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 15:18 GMT
Another fine use of the toy box contents to boost a Friday's happiness quotient.
Thanks & Cheers,
Mike

... it's puerile and very, very silly. The imaginatively named "Monday" was canned because of juvenile snickering, and it would be a shame if this crisp, clean rebranding were to be withdrawn, wasting a lot of taxpayer's money, because of the Reg's unwarranted campaign of ridicule.
Haven't you people got work to do?
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 15:21 GMT
...can make a NSFW post using Playskool figures. Absolutely brilliant.
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
thanks for that :-)
Cracking !!!
I'll have me coat (the puerile and very, very silly one) as I'm off to the pub.
See ye all on Monday, Cheers.
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
Oh, I was hoping it would be something ruder than that...
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
Erm, it's not just El Reg finding this funny, it's been widely ridiculed all over the Web for a couple of days now. I don't recall any juvenile sniggering over "Monday" (even I can't find anything rude about that), but plenty of comment about it being a) stupid and b) totally devoid of imagination.
While we're on, can anybody explain the rationale behind the logo for the Department for Children, Schools and Families (http://www.dfes.gov.uk)?
Paris, because even she could do better.
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
I do have to wonder though how much did it cost us for these leeches to come up with the idea of using a acronym in basic lettering on a white background?.
Maybe there just letting us know how what the tax payer is for..

I haven't laughed so much since Mary Whitehouse died.
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
Snicker-snicker, snickery, snick-snigglesnack!....
Snicker!
Paris would have known what to do...
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
Yeah, you're right ... it's absolutely bloody hilarious.
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
Paralyzed by laughter? That's a relief... I immediately thought they were Puritans passing out from the sight. And that the cop was arresting them as sex offenders. Sorry, forgot you're in a different country. Or maybe not...
[goes off, singing, "We're all living in Amerika, Amerika ist wunderbar"...]

Dear oh dear - people with short memories *and* susceptibility to urban myths. The brand Monday wasn't canned for being duff; it was made redundant by PwC Consulting being bought by IBM and not therefore needing a brand.
And at least it wasn't a dumb-ass made up word (with, if you please, made up punctuation as a required part of it). Nor a coffee-stain masquerading as a brand.
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
Playskool figures *and* official government materials.
Like AC, though, I hope they don't have to go back to the drawing board on this.
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
It is nice to see that the PC brigade haven't managed to rid all childrens' playthings of their guns and other assorted weaponry...
Keep up the ingenious use of the Playskool toys, and don't let any Naysayers put you off!
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
Wrong, it's funny because it IS puerile and very, very silly. Get over yourself.
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
I had to explain to my American colleagues what onanism was. But otherwise bloody funny.

Will the OGC find themselves in trouble with clause 63?
Maybe government logos are exempt. I suppose they would have to
be otherwise the Queen would be in troublwe with that
rampant lion!
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:49 GMT
Priceless!
Two quick questions:
1: Just how thick IS the Register's 'Little Book of Euphemisms'? And;
2: Where can I get a copy?
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:53 GMT
Now its awesome, thanks again El Reg!
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:53 GMT
Would this logo stand in the face of the extreme porn bill that's being debated...?
Posted Friday 25th April 2008 18:54 GMT
@Seth - that sounds like a challenge, and not a particularly difficult one at that.

Paris, because my link is completely unrelated to the story.

I see what you did there with the Rammstein reference.
The eerie thing is that this song was playing on my headphones when I read it.

Must be the recession bitting, time was when the "Image Consultants" would get half a mil for that kind of effort.

Talk about self wanking government silly buggers at work and and play , truly a priceless work of "Idiocracy" !
Or as Nelson would say Ha ! Ha !

I believe that the 'Little Book of Euphemisms' was compiled by Long Dong Silver and is available at all good pirate bookshops !!

"While we're on, can anybody explain the rationale behind the logo for the Department for Children, Schools and Families (http://www.dfes.gov.uk)?"
I would have thought it was obvious to anyone - Rainbow has infiltrated government, and Ed Balls is really Bungle with an all-over wax job to look the part. Forget RoTM, this is RoTP - Revenge of the Puppets:)
Posted Monday 28th April 2008 12:38 GMT
...I assumed they were just celebrating the removal of Section 28 with that logo...

Don't you mean Freetard booktorrents. We cant let ourselves get confuzzled by these issues.
