Sony Ericsson becoming more dominant?

I'd be interested to see SE's sales figures - I've noticed a lot of SE converts in the last couple of years; I bet they're taking a hefty bite out of Nokia's sales.

Always as surprising

Those who bye Nokia now make a lot of money and those who sell now loose.

Still that is what is happening and it is always as surprising.

And absolutly nothing has happened to Nokia. And it is the same with most old stable companies in this world.

Doom, gloom

Profits up 25%

Market share up 3%

Doom, gloom!!!

WTF, in any other industry a profit rise of 25% and there would be a party rather than people saying Nokia's taken a tumble

Flame

40% market share...

...is unsustainable. Nokia got there mainly because of fumbles at Motorola (twice; first by fumbling the transition from 1G to 2G, then with the Razr navel-staring) and Ericsson (made phones styled like 80's Volvos).

Nokia is the one that needs to watch its step. Ovi is Nokia's misstep. You can nibble at the hand that feeds you, but you get slapped.

Still lot of loyal Nokia owners

out there who wouldn't consider getting anything but. I spoke to two collegues today who tried SE and have spent a year or more regretting it and waiting for the end of thier contracts so they can get another Nokia. I'm waiting for the N96 myself.
