Why can't Channel 4 just apologise for inflicting a bunch of no-account nobodies with nothing to say and nothing to do on the British Public by showing Big Brother in the first place?

Industry regulators and particularly ofcom are pretty toothless if all they do to punish the program is 'make them say sorry'.
Surely the fact that they have not banned Big Brother completely is punishing the rest of us!!!

The odds of one of these morons dying somehow in the course of filming must be shortening. Maybe that is what it will take to consign this embarrassing dross to history.

I wonder if the fine will work out cheap erthan paying for all this advertising they are getting a mere week before the next round of idiot watching plagues our screens.

Big Brother or Bag of Bollocks?
I think the latter.
The novelty of BB has worn off now. They should just re-broadcast those clips of Les Dennis talking to the chickens. He's a mentalist. And then his wife left him. It shouldn't be funny but it is.
As for Jade, I think her Kebab is mingin'. And I imagine her mums is much worse...

purely because it is an absolute cash-cow for Channel 4. It's not really relevant, challenging or indeed interesting TV any more, just a platform for no-marks and idiots.
That said, I would be lying if I said I wasn't going to watch it, at least until it gets rubbish anyway, usually about week 3.

I for one cannot wait for the next enthralling installment of Big Brother. I'll be surprised if any news of any national importance reaches the front page of the nations daily papers in the forthcoming months. I'm thankful that it only last for what seems like 40 weeks. /sarcasm

I don't see why Ofcom needed to do anything more about this.
While I'm no fan of the show, I actually think the incident brought about some good. It embarassed two racist 'celebrities', gave the BB crowd (who aren't known for their intelligence) a real issue to think about, showed that a huge majority of Britons find racism deplorable..... and made C4 a boatload of money.

Are people complaining because of the comments made or that C4 actually broadcasted the comments? Because its a fine line between free speech and Political correctness.
You could go with the "if you dont want to hear it, switch over" (but then big bro does say the program contains bad language from the outset).
No one watchs big brother for the interest of social interaction, but more to see boobs, bums, and fights.
There is very little difference between beating someone up, and racial slander, but it seems to me that people are more upset by bad words and language than grevious bodily violence.
These are just my opinions, and if you dont agree with them, then thats your opinion.
All that said I cant wait for all the bums, boobs and fights to come... what else is there to do go out and socialise?
