More interesting than the photo is the actual web address listed for the US embassy ... american-embassy.pt. Since when is Grosvenor square in Portugal? Cheers.

It didn't help the Chinese embassy in Belgrade. Admittedly, one assumes that Al Qaida is a bit more thorough.

Go to www.streetmap.co.uk & search on W1a 1AE.

Result:

Same as Google but with the warning "The location for this post code is not accurate. You should confirm your destination before travelling".

This is obviously an INTERNATIONAL conspiracy between Google, HMG & The Post Office!

Hey paul have a sense of humor!

I think it's fairly funny myself. I could see Mustafa bin Blowmyself going to Google during planning his ascension to sainthood and being completely confused when he got to the wrong place :). Of course the bobbies are so nice that one of them would cheerfully direct him to the right place anyway, if he asked politely.

Maybe this is the same Google that the Iran used when in the Persian Gulf? You never know, the conspiracy could be wide spread. Maybe the Iranians saw the error of their ways since they are releasing the hostages!

With regard to the invalid postcode wossname, one can achieve the same result trying to locate Lloyds Bank in the middle of Oxford.

Google at it again.

Google maps was very useful a few years ago, now lots of sections have been 'back-dated' to hide features various gov't don't want seen.

They also trawl for key words using Google search on 'groups' and then follow up with a CID 'visit', BTDT.
