eBay fingered in cash for honours scandal

Peerages for sale on ebay

This needs to be brought to the attention of the Advertising Standards Agency as gross violation of their ruling http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/02/21/ebay_vs_asa/ that ebay must ensure that whatever it advertises is actually listed and available for sale throughout the time an advertisement like this is shown.

As there are currently NO actual peerages listed for sale (and the advert very clearly says buy peerages, not buy BOOKS about peerages) ebay has violated that ruling already.

Hopefully, diligent enforcement of ebay's nonsense advertising like this will ensure that ebay ceases its longstanding and highly irritating campaign of "squatting" on random and inappropriate keywords like this.

Happens all the time

At the time of his sad demise, I was invited, quite chillingly, to "Buy Steve Irwin dead" on E-Bay.

Unfortunately, it seems they are lying when they are advertising 13 week foetuses on eBay (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=13+week+old+foetus)
